We’re meant to change the world
All your babies are sleeping through the night, but you’re still exhausted. And the only feed back you get is “well you have kids, so of course you’re tired”…
It shouldn’t be this hard. 🥱
Even when we have friends and family around, moms still spend so much time doing the hard stuff alone. 🍼
🌈 Here’s how I saved my sanity in the thick of motherhood….
I took a walk.
It’s easy but not, right?
It’s cold outside. Your kids don’t want to go. There’s dishes to clean up.
So let me talk you into it. 😉
1. Sunlight is a natural source of vitamin D, essential for overall health— linked to better mood regulation and a lower risk of depression.
2. Sunlight exposure stimulates the production of serotonin, a neurotransmitter associated with feelings of well-being and happiness.
3. Exposure to natural light helps regulate the body’s internal clock, known as the circadian rhythm. A well-regulated circadian rhythm is crucial for maintaining a healthy sleep-wake cycle, which is closely tied to mental health.
4. Sunlight exposure is known to alleviate symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder, a type of depression that occurs at specific times of the year, often in the darker months.
5. Exposure to natural light during the day can lead to increased melatonin production at night, promoting better sleep. Quality sleep is essential for mental well-being.
Mothering (mostly alone in our current culture) is hard. But I want more for you and me. “You’re tired because you have kids” isn’t good enough anymore. Our families, communities, and country would be in a better place if we had more happy, healthy moms. We’re made to change the world.
📞 So here’s what you do. Call a friend, or join a local walking/hiking group (if you can’t find one, start one. Message me- I can show you how) and go play outside together!!
💌 If you feel you need to support your body in more ways than one like it did, comment GUIDE. I’ll send you a basic outline of the 4 supplements I take daily that have helped me get out of the mom fog after having babies. My body was depleted and needed a boost.
Don’t go alone. We need each other and the world needs you.
